We are happy to announce that all issues have been resolved and the Zooniverse platform is back online! The migration to new healthy database hardware is complete; all issues were overcome and we anticipate no further issues or downtime from this incident.
Again, we are very thankful for your patience -- happy classifying!
Note: If you are still being redirected to status.zooniverse.org after 4pm Central on Sunday February 23, we recommend that you clear your browser cache and restart your browser to regain access to zooniverse.org sites.

Work to migrate our database to healthy hardware is moving ahead, where the investigation is complete and root cause of the recent issue identified, but completing the migration will require additional time. We now estimate the platform will return to service on Sunday (down for Thursday-Saturday Feb 20-22) with good confidence in this timeline estimate.
We will provide updates of any new developments, but otherwise will post an update on Sunday at 9:00am Central / 15:00 UTC.

The work to migrate our database to healthy hardware ran into issues. We are working with our cloud computing vendor to identify and resolve this new issue that caused the migration interruption. Once the investigation is complete, we will restart the migration. Unfortunately, this restart has increase our expected downtime, which now extends through end of day Friday (down for Thursday Feb 20 and Friday Feb 21 during US business hours). Furthermore, the situation remains unresolved and downtime may extend beyond the current targeted completion time.
We will provide updates of any new developments, but otherwise will post an update on Friday 9:00am Central / 15:00 UTC.

Work by the Zooniverse team in cooperation with our cloud computing vendor has identified the problem and we are working to migrate our database to healthy hardware. Please know that all platform data is safe and secure. We expect the platform will continue to be down for up to 36 hours from now (through end of Thursday US time) in order to complete this work. The Zooniverse team is continuing to work with our cloud computing vendor to bring our database and platform back online, however the issue is taking time to resolve. Based on our current knowledge of the problem, the platform may be down for sometime (up to 48 hours; down for Wednesday and Thursday during US business hours). The team is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we will continue to provide updates on our progress (next update: Wed 9:00am Central / 15:00 UTC).
